The Ph. D Entrance Test (PET) examination will be conducted on Sunday, 13th September 2015 at Vadodara centre only.

Online Examination Hall Ticket :
Examination Hall Ticket will be provided online to all candidates 3 days prior to the date of the examination. Candidate have to click the link “Download Examination Hall Ticket”. Provide Application Number and Date of Birth and print the Online Examination Hall ticket.

Candidates have to download and get a printout of Examination Hall Ticket. It will not be sent to the candidates by Post.

Candidate must carry Examination Hall Ticket and also one additional photo identity such as a driving license, voter ID, college/university identity card, PAN card etc. to the examination center on the Day of the Examination.

If your Examination Hall Ticket does not display image of your photograph, you have to paste the photo at appropriate place and get it attested from the competent authority at examination centre.

The candidate is not allowed in the Examination Hall without the Examination Hall Ticket.

Please confirm that your name, subject etc. shown in the Examination Hall Ticket are correct. If there is any error in the Examination Hall Ticket, contact PET office through E-Mail : petmsu@gmail.com immediately and submit written application to PET Office through written application otherwise PET Office will not be responsible for making necessary corrections and will not be responsible for providing benefits or for loss arising out of these to the candidates.

Structure of the Test :
Part-1- Written Test (Multiple choice questions) :
There will be only one test paper Faculty-wise carrying weightage of 100 marks. There shall be 50 Multiple choice questions; and each question carries Two marks. There is no negative marking in the examination.The medium of examination will be in English only. The duratuion of the test shall be 3 hours. The Faculty wise syllabus for the written test is available at our website.

The candidates who score 40% marks(40 out of 100 Marks) in Written Test , will be eligible for the Personal Interview.

Use of Programmable Scientific Calculator is not allowed.

Part-2- Personal Interview :
The candidates who have scored 40% marks(40 out of 100 Marks)in written test shall appear for the personal interview carrying a weightage of 25 marks which shall be held at the Faculty level wherein the Dean and the members of the Departmental Reserch Committee of the concerned subject shall interview the applicant about his / her research areas and interests. In cases where there is only one member of research committee in a particular department, The Dean may co-opt members from the related Department of the Faculty for the conduct of the personal interview.

Standard for qualifying PET :
The Final merit list will be prepared aggregating the marks obtained from the written test of 100 marks and personal interview of 25 marks. Based on the vacancies available, the subject-wise merit lists will be declared but under no circumstance, a candidate who has secured less than 40% Marks in PET shall be declared eligible for admission to Ph. D based on the number of vacancies subject-wise, the Vice Chancellor shall fix requisite number of candidates who are to be declared eligible for admission .

The validity of PET shall be three years after the declaration of the result i.e. a candidate has to register for Ph. D. within three years after the date of issue of passing certificate of PET.
