Syllabus & Scheme Of Examination

(i) Language Proficiency shall have 30 questions (15 question for Hindi & 15 Questions for English) indicating specific area like comprehension , rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of the sentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, idioms, prepositions tenses, articles.

(ii) Teaching Aptitude (40 questions) will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & group management; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education.

(iii) Reasoning ability (30 questions) indicating specific areas like verbal non verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusion, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships and numerical ability

Notes :
** ENTRANCE TEST SHALL BE HELD IN OMR BASED / OFFLINE MODE .
** ENTRANCE TEST SHALL BE OF MCQ TYPE FOR TOTAL 100 MARKS WITH 1 MARK AWARDED FOR EACH CORRECT ANSWER AND 0.25 NEGATIVE MARKS FOR EVERY WRONG ANSWER SHALL BE DEDUCTED.

Selection Process

** The eligibility conditions and requirements of admission shall be such as prescribed by NCTE from time to time.

** The selection of candidates for admission to the B.Ed/M.Ed/B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed course shall be made on the basis of ranking obtained in the B.Ed/M.Ed/B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed Entrance Test conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), Ranchi for that academic year. The JCECEB shall prescribe the requisite examination fee for the conduct of the Entrance test.

** The date of B.Ed/M.Ed/B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed Entrance Test shall be announced by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), Ranchi keeping in view of time line prescribed injudgement passed by Hon’ble Supreme Court in the Case No. 276/2012 (MaaVaisno Devi Mahavidyalaya Vrs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others).

** In view of the above mentioned time line the admission schedule for B.Ed/M.Ed/B.P.Ed/M.P.Ed courses has been provided in section below and the result & ranking shall be released by JCECEB, Ranchi after evaluation of answer books.

** The result and ranking shall be decided on the basis of marks obtained in Common Entrance Test. The ranking list shall be prepared in descending order and shall contain twice the number of sanctioned intake.

** In case of tie, the relative merit of a candidate shall be resolved in the following order of preference and methodology, as specified below:
(i) NCC ‘C’ Certificate/NSS Certificate.
(ii) Candidates having their date of birth in descending order i.e., elder will be given preference over younger candidates.

** The seat allotment shall be done through centralized counseling by JCECEB. Every year the admissions shall be regulated through a centralized counseling process by the JCECEB.

** On basis of category wise merit list the JCECEB with due process of counseling and seat allotment will take place as per the decision arrived at through consultation with all Universities of the State in this regard, where the self-attested testimonials submitted by the candidate shall be scrutinized.

** The original certificates after comparing with the duplicates shall be returned to the candidates during the counseling process itself.
