Selection Procedure :
Selection of the candidates takes places in two phases.
First Phase: The applicants will have a Written Test during this phase. Written test will held in two papers (Objective and Descriptive). Their knowledge will be tested in the areas of Telugu, English, translation and current affairs. The Written Test will be conducted in all publication centres of Sakshi daily.
Examination Instructions :
The examination consist of two papers – Paper I(120 marks) and Paper II(80 marks)
Paper-I (120 Objective Questions – 120 Marks)
The total exam time is 2 ½ hours (From 10 am to 12.30 pm). The candidates must be in the exam hall by 9.45 am.
This paper tests candidates’ analytical skills and accuracy of knowledge.
Some questions are also given in English medium.
120 questions have to be answered in 2 ½ hours.
Wrong answers attract negative marks. One mark will be deducted for 4 wrong answers.
Paper II will be evaluated only when candidates pass Paper I.
The candidates shall carry two HB pencils, one eraser and a sharpener as they will have to make use of Optimal Mark Reader (OMR) sheet to answer the Preliminary Exam.
Fill the answer OMR sheet carefully. Please check the question numbers and fill the answer options given in the sheet carefully with pencil. (You can read instructions as to how to fill the circles in the OMR sheet.)
Calculators, cell phones, logarithm and mathematics tables are not allowed into the exam hall.
Lunch Break – 12.30 pm to 1.45 pm.
Paper –II (Marks – 80)
Duration of Exam – 3 Hours (2 pm to 5pm).
This paper is divided into four sections.
Section – 1: Marks: 20
This section contains two questions. Candidate shall answer one question of his/her choice. Questions can be asked on the topics of regional, national and international importance.
Section – 2: Marks: 20
This section contains two questions. Candidate shall answer one question of his/her choice. Questions can be asked any topic where candidates’ analytical skills shall be tested.
Section – 3: Marks: 30
In this section, the candidate’s knowledge of Telugu language and his writing capabilities shall be tested.
Section – 4: Translation, Marks: 10
This section contains a question on Translation from English to Telugu medium.
